I’m trying to figure out the Theoretical yield and % yield. We had the Aldol Condensation reaction in which we started with 0.1412 g of ?4-Chlorobenzaldehyde (MW of 140.57 and Density of 1.12)
We added .12 mL of Acetophenone + .80 mL of 95% Ethanol + .10 mL of NaOH.??? We added some water and filtered it.
To crystallize the Chalcone, we purified with a 50:50 mix of Ethanol/Methanol.
Our Final mass of? 4-Chlorochalcone was .2761 grams
