Locate a newspaper article on a criminal event from one of the following sources only: the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Star Ledger or the Washington Post. The date of the article must be within the last year. You will need to select an article that describes a single criminal event and not a summary of multiple criminal events. You may use the web sites of the aforementioned sources or hard copy and you must attach the article to your assignment. You must write at least two full pages explaining the crime from the classical school and the positivist school perspectives (writing at least one page for each school of thought). Be sure to include the defining points of each school of thought as they relate to the criminal event (i.e. free choice vs. determinism).
