For this assignment, I would like to leave the format somewhat open, in order to allow for creativity. As an example, if you would like to incorporate PowerPoint, videos, sound clips, or any other types of creative media, please feel free to do so. Think of how all of the material we have covered in this course fits together, and let’s think of how we can use it. You can even be creative to think of how to link it to your specific field of study.
The things you are required to submit as part of your portfolio are: information about your Strengthsfinder results, a revised resume and cover letter (incorporating the feedback you received), brief information you take-away from reading the book (10 Things Employers Want You to Learn in College), and a detailed plan of what steps you’d like to take to continue to develop professionally.
You must also include at least one of the following: three questions to ask a future employer, a link to a professional social media account, information from your undergraduate reflection, or a dream resume (Create a “dream resume” that ends with your ultimate dream job and lists things you could do in the mean time to make this career goal possible. Add in positions you may have in the future, skills you’d like to develop, and experiences you’d like to have in your lifetime.).
The purpose of this assignment is for you to gather the information you have learned in this class into one place, to help you see how it all fits together, to help you think about what you should do next, and to give you something to take away from this course that you can use in the future.
